End-of-semester resources
Hello from a snowy Bates campus!
As we head into exams, we want to remind you about support resources for your students. Accessing academic and mental health support is very normalized in the Bates community, and while we’ve shared a number of resources in past email updates this fall, here are a few reminders all in one place:
- Academic Resource Commons is a comprehensive first stop for academic support for writing, math and stats, and general tutoring.
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) have added a number of in-person and virtual supports for student mental health. These include groups, virtual tools UWill and Thriving Campus, and a 24/7 mental health line and same-day service options.
- If your student is feeling stressed and isn’t sure where to go, encourage them to touch base with their Student Support Advisor (SSA). This advisor – listed as part of each student’s Success Team in BatesReach – is a great resource for guidance, assistance, or just someone to talk to.
Once all those papers and exams are finished, the Residential Calendar is very helpful for planning travel home and then back again for next semester.
Best regards,
The Bates Parent Team
