{"id":5556,"date":"2025-07-02T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/parents\/?p=5556"},"modified":"2025-07-02T11:29:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T15:29:00","slug":"time-sensitive-reminders-for-your-incoming-bates-student","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/parents\/2025\/07\/02\/time-sensitive-reminders-for-your-incoming-bates-student\/","title":{"rendered":"Time-sensitive reminders for your incoming Bates student"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Greetings from campus, Bates families &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the summer before their first year, students are\u00a0<strong>required\u00a0<\/strong>to complete\u00a0<strong>online orientation resource modules<\/strong>\u00a0and to participate in key pre-arrival processes, such as\u00a0<strong>fall course registration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please remind your student about critical steps and deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As of June 9,\u00a0<strong>students receive all Bates updates at their Bates email address<\/strong>. Instructions on how to log in were provided through their Admission portal. Please encourage them to check their email daily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three separate\u00a0<strong>resource modules are now open to students<\/strong>. These modules are time sensitive, and additional modules will open throughout the summer. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/first-year-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">First-Year Experience<\/a>\u00a0team updates students directly when new modules open.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fall course registration opens for first-years on July 9<\/strong>, and your student will soon hear from their\u00a0<strong>course registration consultant<\/strong>, a faculty or staff member specially trained to advise students with course selection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All emails to students are archived under&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/first-year-experience\/summer-communications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Summer Communications<\/a>&nbsp;on the First-Year Experience website, where you\u2019ll also find a full calendar of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/first-year-experience\/important-summer-dates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">summer dates and deadlines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for helping your student keep up with these pre-arrival items, as these important resources make the transition to campus much smoother!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Best from Bates,<br>The Bates Parent Team<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>P.S.
