As we prepare to welcome our returning Bobcats back to campus, we\u2019re sharing a few important dates, resources, and reminders for the start of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting to Bates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether your student is traveling by plane, train, bus, or car, the Getting to Bates FAQ<\/strong><\/a> offers helpful information and transportation options for getting to campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrival & Check-In<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Returning students may arrive August 30\u2013September 1, <\/strong>from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/strong> daily. Students should check in at the Fireplace Lounge in Commons<\/strong><\/a>, where staff will activate their new Bates ID and issue their room key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lost Bates ID?<\/strong> Students who lost their ID over the summer should request a replacement<\/strong><\/a> before arriving on campus to ensure a smooth check-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Dates & Upcoming Events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 20\u201324:<\/strong> Student orientation leaders (OWLs, AESOP, JA\/CA staff, etc.) arrive on campus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 24\u201325:<\/strong> Fall preseason athletes arrive on campus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 30\u2013September 1:<\/strong> Arrival and move-in for returning students<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 31:<\/strong> Board plan for returning students begins with dinner<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September 2:<\/strong> Fall semester classes begin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 2\u20134: <\/strong>Back to Bates: Alumni and Family Weekend<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 14-18: <\/strong>Fall recess, residences remain open<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a new semester begins, Bates offers a wide range of resources to support student well-being. From academics and mental health to physical, social, and financial well-being, students can explore resources designed to support them throughout their time at Bates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
