Instructions on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/hr\/files\/2024\/01\/How-to-login-to-Garnet-Gateway-to-access-your-timesheet.pdf\">How to Login into Garnet Gateway and Access your Timesheet<\/a> can be found on the Human Resources <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/hr\/updated-garnet-gateway\/\">Training for Updated Garnet Gateway<\/a> page. Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/payroll\/calendars\/\">Calendars<\/a> page on the Payroll website and open the appropriate pay type calendar for exact timesheet submission and approval dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-bates-shortcodes-btn btn-wrap\" id=\"4b969167-4079-4c0e-a11d-79e478fb6b5e\"><div class=\"btn-action\" role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"4b969167-4079-4c0e-a11d-79e478fb6b5e\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><h3 class=\"btn-title\">Exempt Staff (Monthly Pay Cycle)<\/h3><div class=\"btn-arrow\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"btn-content\" id=\"4b969167-4079-4c0e-a11d-79e478fb6b5e\">\n<p>Exempt staff members report any leave time taken on their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/garnet-gateway\/\">Garnet Gateway<\/a>\u00a0timesheet.\u00a0 Since exempt staff are paid for their full month of work on the second Thursday of the month, the timesheet on Garnet Gateway is used to report leave time from the prior month.\u00a0 For example, when completing the March timesheet on Garnet Gateway, exempt staff will report any vacation, sick, or personal time taken during February.\u00a0 In the event that an exempt staff member did not take any leave time in the previous month, enter a \u20180\u2019 in one of the hours fields on the timesheet and submit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> If an employee does not submit their timesheet by the submission deadline the employee must initiate an <a href=\"https:\/\/batescollege.na2.documents.adobe.com\/public\/esignWidget?wid=CBFCIBAA3AAABLblqZhAqe8q9UR97ax8KQDQ6EbPvcZkAXz_z-3RGOjvMT4ow9o0V-HfHEC4SpXu6RlRMvrE*\">Adobe Sign Monthly Staff Timesheet<\/a>.  This will be routed to their supervisor, and upon completion, will route to Payroll for processing.  The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/payroll\/files\/2021\/10\/Steps-for-the-Adobe-Sign-Timesheet_StaffME-2.pdf\">Adobe Sign Monthly Staff Timesheet How-To guide<\/a> provides step by step instructions on completing the Adobe Sign timesheet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The deadline for exempt staff to submit their timesheet is the first Friday of the month by 11:59 P.M.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The deadline for supervisors to approve their exempt staff\u2019s timesheets is the Monday of pay week by 11:59 A.M.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-bates-shortcodes-btn btn-wrap\" id=\"0271bca7-903c-496e-8552-cd02919a37da\"><div class=\"btn-action\" role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"0271bca7-903c-496e-8552-cd02919a37da\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><h3 class=\"btn-title\">Nonexempt Staff (Bi-Weekly Pay Cycle)<\/h3><div class=\"btn-arrow\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"btn-content\" id=\"0271bca7-903c-496e-8552-cd02919a37da\">\n<p>It is the responsibility of every nonexempt staff member to accurately record the time they work each pay period.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>The deadline for timesheet submission for nonexempt staff is the Sunday after the last day of the pay period (Saturday) by 2:59 P.M.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If an employee does not submit their timesheet by the submission deadline the employee must initiate an <a href=\"https:\/\/batescollege.na2.documents.adobe.com\/public\/esignWidget?wid=CBFCIBAA3AAABLblqZhCVrklcs0XyE4FgAptbX-q_D5mega4C3L9n44DpfwWQys11B2INcHQsZTBGUcgEctg*\">Adobe Sign Bi-Weekly Staff Timesheet<\/a>. The submission by the staff member and the approval by the supervisor act as electronic signatures, certifying the accuracy of the information on the&nbsp; timesheet. Federal and state laws require Bates College to keep an accurate record of time worked in order to calculate nonexempt staff member\u2019s pay and benefits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>The deadline for supervisors to approve a nonexempt staff members timesheet is Monday the week of pay by 11:59 P.M.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nonexempt staff members should report to work no more than 7 minutes prior to their scheduled starting time nor stay more than 7 minutes after their scheduled stop time without the prior approval of their supervisor. Likewise, overtime work must be approved before it is performed, except under extenuating circumstances. The Payroll Office cannot assume that a nonexempt staff member has worked.
