Marjorie Northrop Friedman is a development professional with experience across the nonprofit sector. Currently, she works with the Park City Community Foundation to more deeply align philanthropic efforts and strategic needs in Park City. Previously, she was the Director of Philanthropy for The Girl Scouts of Utah and headed and worked on development teams at The Green Mountain Valley School and The Ethel Walker School. Before taking several years to tend to her young family, Kitty was an associate at Holland & Knight LLP in the New York office, focusing on commercial and insurance litigation as well as several pro bono projects.
Kitty is proud to have served as a trustee at Bates since 2005. Additional board service and volunteer engagement include Rowland Hall School, Boys Club of New York, and Women’s Health Research at Yale. Kitty received a J.D. from Vermont Law School, where she was on the Environmental Law Journal, and a B.S. in Geology from Bates. She is married to Peter Friedman ’92. They live in Park City, UT where Kitty tries to keep up on the ski slopes and mountain bikes with children Ned ’24, Lindley, and Molly.
