{"id":10767,"date":"2015-08-27T17:01:51","date_gmt":"2015-08-27T21:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/career\/?page_id=10767"},"modified":"2025-08-13T12:49:54","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T16:49:54","slug":"international-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/purposeful-work\/international-students\/","title":{"rendered":"International Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The process of preparing for and applying to U.S. health professional schools is the same whether or not you are a U.S. citizen\u2014the differences relate to which health professional schools will consider international students, and what finance options are available.<\/p>\n<p>Most federally funded scholarship and loan programs are available only to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. An additional hurdle at some schools is a requirement to put from one to four years of costs (tuition, fees, and living expenses) in escrow before matriculation.
