Log in to Garnet Gateway<br \/>\n2. Select \u201cCurrent\u201d<br \/>\n3. Under \u201cStudent Related\u201d select \u201cPermits\/Overrides\u201d<br \/>\n4. Select Term &amp; submit<br \/>\n5. Enter student ID, click on submit (there is also a name search if you don&#8217;t have the ID)<br \/>\n6. Page will say \u201cStudent Verification,\u201d click &#8220;submit&#8221; to verify student name<br \/>\n7. Page will say \u201cRegistration Permits\/Overrides\u201d &#8211; select the type of override and the course from the pull-down menus, click &#8220;submit&#8221;<br \/>\n8. A confirmation page appears &#8211; if the information is correct click &#8220;submit&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After you have applied the override, the student needs to register and will get an automatic email to that effect.<\/p>\n<p>The available overrides are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student Attribute Restriction (Only used by a few departments\/programs for placement exams)<\/li>\n<li>Enrollment Limit<\/li>\n<li>Class restriction (This is when a course is not open to first-year students, not open to seniors, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Corequisite(s)<\/li>\n<li>Mutual Exclusions (This is when students who&#8217;ve taken a particular course are barred from taking a related lower-level course, as in the case of MATH 101 not being open to students who have taken ECON 250.)<\/li>\n<li>Prerequisite(s)<\/li>\n<li>Instructor Permission<\/li>\n<li>OVERRIDE ALL ERRORS &#8211; overrides all of the above errors. It will not\u00a0<span class=\"il\">override<\/span> time conflicts or allow a student to repeat a course.
