If you find yourself accessing Etna | Scholarship or Etna | Classes frequently, it is convenient to map your Etna directory as a lettered or named drive.<\/p>\n

For Windows 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Select the Windows Button (generally the lower left hand corner of the screen).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Select \u201cComputer\u201d. \u00a0A new \u201cComputer\u201d dialog window should pop up.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Select \u201cMap Network Drive\u201d from the \u201cComputer\u201d dialog window.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. On the \u201cMap Network Drive\u201d dialog box, select a drive letter for your mapped drive. \u00a0The default \u201cZ\u201d is usually fine.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. In the \u201cFolder\u201d box, enter the netapp path to your Etna Scholarship or Classes directory (e.g. \\\\netapp.bcis.bates.edu\\etna\\Scholarship\\[Firstname Lastname]<\/em>).<\/li>\n
  6. On the \u201cMap Network Drive\u201d window, the \u201cFinish\u201d button should now be active. \u00a0Select \u201cFinish\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Your newly mapped network drive should now be an option when you select \u201cComputer\u201d from the Windows button.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>If desired, you can create a shortcut for this mapped drive on your desktop.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For Windows 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Open\u00a0File Explorer\u00a0<\/b>from the taskbar or the\u00a0Start<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0menu, or press the\u00a0Windows logo key<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0+\u00a0E.<\/b><\/li>\n
    2. Select\u00a0This PC\u00a0<\/b>from the left pane. Then, on the\u00a0Computer<\/b>\u00a0tab, select\u00a0Map network drive.<\/b><\/li>\n
    3. In the\u00a0Drive<\/b>\u00a0list,\u00a0select a drive letter. (Any available letter will do.)<\/li>\n
    4. In the\u00a0Folder<\/b> box, enter the netapp path to your Etna Scholarship or Classes directory (e.g. \\\\netapp.bcis.bates.edu\\etna\\Scholarship\\[Firstname Lastname]). \u00a0To connect every time you log on to your PC, select the\u00a0Reconnect at\u00a0sign-in<\/b> check box.<\/li>\n
    5. Select\u00a0Finish.<\/b><\/li>\n
    6. Your newly mapped network drive should now be an option when you select \u201cComputer\u201d from the Windows button.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>If desired, you can create a shortcut for this mapped drive on your desktop.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      For MacOS<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Select the \u201cGo\u201d dropdown navigation option from the navigation bar at the top of the desktop. \u00a0Then select \u201cConnect to Folder\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. From the resulting \u201cConnect to Server\u201d window, enter the desired server address. \u00a0For your folder on the Etna\/Scholarship drive, you would provide something like “smb:\/\/netapp.bcis.bates.edu\/etna\/Scholarship\/[Firstname Lastname<\/em>]\u201d. \u00a0Then select \u201cConnect\u201d.<\/li>\n
      3. You should now be able to access your folders and files within your netapp\/Etna space.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
