FAQ: Reunion 2020 Cancellation
On April 6, President Clayton Spencer announced the cancellation of Reunion Weekend 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have additional questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will there be a Reunion weekend celebration in the future for our classes?
Nothing can replace the experience of being on campus with your classmates and friends. As President Spencer said in her message to alumni, we hope to be able to invite Reunion 2020 classes back to Bates to celebrate at some point in the future and will work with class leaders to gather your input on possible options.
What additional alternatives will there be for classes with Reunions in 2020?
We are committed to helping you commemorate your milestone reunions this year. This may include traditional Reunion-weekend content streamed online, as well as class-specific virtual social gatherings. We will update you as we know more.
Will my Reunion fees be refunded?
Your Reunion registration fees will be refunded; you may also opt to donate these fees as a gift to the Bates COVID-19 Fund—a special fund created to support students and faculty as they navigate the completion of the winter semester via remote learning—or to the Bates Fund designation of your choice. Please complete the Reunion Registration Fee Selection Form by June 1 to let us know your intentions, even if you only want to request a full refund. You may also email us at email@example.com, or call us at 1-888-522-8371.
You will be notified when your refund or gift has been processed. Due to the large volume of transactions, it may take several weeks for refunds to be credited to your credit card. If you paid by check, refund checks will be mailed; this may take up to six weeks.
How else can I stay connected with Bates?
We are working on ways for alumni to virtually engage with us in the coming weeks and months. Please join your class Facebook group and let your classmates know how you are doing, and follow Bates and Bates Alumni on our social media platforms. You can also network with students and alumni of all generations through Bates Bridge.
