Bates will foster a positive workplace culture where employees develop supportive relationships with campus colleagues, are provided opportunities to enhance their skills in meaningful ways, and are valued for their unique contributions to the college\u2019s mission.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n In spring 2023, the college committed to launching a comprehensive employee engagement program which began with input sessions in April 2023. More than 200 employees participated, sharing their thoughts so the college can better understand where current practices and policies promote employee engagement and where there is work to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An\u00a0employee working group<\/a>\u00a0provided input and guidance to shape a comprehensive staff survey deployed in spring 2024. Given the unique characteristics of faculty and staff work, faculty were surveyed using a separate instrument that allows benchmarking against previous faculty surveys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Monthly email communications to the campus community provided updates on the progress of the broad scope of work taking place to forward this employee engagement initiative.
