Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Diversity Coordinators are responsible for supporting the Office of Admission with the goal of recruiting the most talented and diverse class possible. Recruitment and Diversity Coordinators are responsible for managing all volunteers for our programming such as overnight hosts, day host, callers during phonathons, and as extra support during high-profile on campus events such as Open Houses, Prologue, and Admitted Student Receptions. The most time consuming responsibilities for this position will be during October-November and March-April, with continued responsibilities throughout the academic year. Requirements


Education: At least one year completed at Bates College Experience: An ideal applicant will have an interest in supporting the mission of the institution and the work that Admission does on behalf of it. The student must be comfortable interacting with a diverse range of individuals interested in Bates. In order to be successful in this position one must have solid communication skills and a positive attitude; strong organizational and managerial skills are a must. The student must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as on a team. Comfort with the Google suite and data entry is required.

Reporting


Students will work closely with Nicole Villacrés-Reyes with bi-weekly meetings. Regular interaction with other admission staff members is also required.
