SA: DOS/FYS Teaching Assistant (S9620C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This person will serve as the assistant teacher/co-teacher for the FYS: Understanding Namaste. Responsibilities will include assisting in the advising and evaluating of students (with oversight). It will also involve taking responsibility for leading a minimum of four class sessions and participating collaboratively in the teaching of the remaining class sessions. Finally, this position will require this student to act as a resource and mentor to the students enrolled in the course (in terms of writing, course reading, and academic and personal issues).

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities


Education: Undergraduate education to the senior level Experience: The DOS/FYS Teaching Assistant must have knowledge and experience in the areas of Indian history, yoga, Buddhist theory, and the overall college experience. He or she must have training in writing theory and evaluation, and have excellent interpersonal skills.
