SA: Late Night Coordinator (S9646C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Late Night Coordinators will work nontraditional hours, generally on Fridays and Saturdays after 9:00pm. The Late Night Coordinators assist in our student-generated late night programming for Late at Bates. The Late Night Coordinators will solicit program requests from students, approve/ deny these requests, and help student groups and individuals coordinate their programs by assisting with logistics. They will act as a liaison between Campus Life and the groups or individuals organizing and leading LAB events. They will alternate being present at these events and will assist in evaluating the success of these late night programs.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities


• Must be organized, responsible, personable, enthusiastic and able to work well with others even under duress. • Must be able and willing to work with a diverse group of students and staff. • Students must be timely in their presence at events and must be able to respond to office communications in a timely manner (no more than 24 hours except under special circumstances). • Must be available to attend events on Friday or Saturday nights after 9:00pm lasting between 2-4 hours. • Students should have an awareness of Bates social life, interest in event programming. • Preference to students with prior programming experience and students on work study.


Coordinators report to the Assistant Director of Campus Life. They will work closely with each other, Campus Life staff and Taylor Made Security (hired by Campus Life). Students may also interact with Residential Life Staff, Events Office staff and Bates Dining personnel.


Highly interactive and requires organization. Students will be exposed to a variety of on-campus environments/ locations and some events may have limited alcohol present.
