ADM: Admission Diversity and Recruitment Coordinator (S9603B)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Diversity and Recruitment Coordinators are responsible for supporting the Office of Admission with the goal of recruiting the most talented and diverse class possible. Diversity and Recruitment Coordinators will primarily work on our Overnight Program and our diversity fly in event, Prologue. Tasks include but are not limited to:

– Recruiting student volunteers to host prospective students
– Matching prospective students to host
– Coordinating on-campus visits
– Contributing to programming during Prologue
– Greeting prospective students and families
– Answering phones and completing data entry tasks
– Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities


The student have an interest in supporting the mission of the institution and the work that Admission does on behalf of it. The student must be comfortable interacting with a diverse range of individuals interested in Bates. Along these lines, solid communication skills, a friendly demeanor, a sense of humor, and organizational skills are valued. The student must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team. Comfort with the Google suite and data entry is required.


Students will report to Liam Tran and Troy Williams. Regular interaction with other admission staff members is also required.


The student will work in an office environment and will use the telephone, computer and email often; the student will also be connecting with visiting prospective students and families. The student may be asked to lift materials up to twenty pounds.
