Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Lighting Technician will install lighting equipment at the direction of the Lighting Designer/ Technical Director. The lighting technician works in the Scene shop, Schaeffer Theater, Black Box, Olin Arts and Gannett Theater. They will maintain equipment and the color media collection. They will also occasionally work with sound equipment.
Please Note: Some night and weekend work is required

Requirements


The lighting technician must be a Bates student. It is desired that he or she has taken Theater 132 and/or Theatre 232 in the past and has some basic electrical knowledge. Training will be provided. They must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb a ladder in excess of twelve feet, and will frequently use wrenches, ladders, cables, and theatrical lighting equipment.
