WGS: Student Specialist (S9710C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities


The Student Specialist must be an energetic, responsible individual who can work independently in a confidential setting. The Specialist will assist faculty members with administrative and office activities, basic library research and miscellaneous tasks, as well as assist with standard office functions, (photocopying, faxing, filing, scanning and running errands). He or she will work with staff, faculty, and administration to provide a variety of Post & Print to many diverse constituents.



This student must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to prioritize and complete assignments in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.

The Student Specialist must have taken at least one WGS course at Bates and must feel comfortable working with a variety of office machines.It also desired that the student supervisor has prior experience working in an office setting and experience with both PC and MAC platforms



The student supervisor will work in a highly confidential working environment and will be required to run errands around campus. This student must be able to get around campus. This student will also frequently use the telephone, photocopier, fax, computer, and the scanner.
