The Summit highlights undergraduate research; student creative work in art, dance, theater, music\u00a0and film\/video;\u00a0projects conducted in the context of academic courses; and community-engaged research. The Summit spotlights the rich intellectual life of\u00a0our students.\u00a0The event is sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty&#8217;s Office and the Student Research Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2021 Summit will be a virtual event, featuring posters sessions, talks, panels, screenings, and performances.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/summit\/files\/2021\/04\/Summit-Schedule-for-Web-4.29-21-6-PM.pdf\">SUMMIT SCHEDULE BY EVENT\/TIME<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/summit\/files\/2021\/04\/Summit-Schedule-for-Web-by-NAME-4.29-21-6-PM.pdf\">SUMMIT SCHEDULE BY PRESENTER NAME<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/summit\/files\/2021\/04\/More-Arts-at-the-Summit2.pdf\">MORE ARTS AT THE SUMMIT<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Learn more about the Summit in this video perspective<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mount David Summit at Bates College\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/104447410?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>This year&#8217;s Mount David Summit will take place on Saturday, 15 May<\/strong>.<\/em> There are concurrent presentations throughout the day as well as a dance concert on Saturday evening. Students present their work in poster sessions, in 15-minute talks, and in readings, performances, screenings, and exhibitions. Events will be on Zoom and related platforms, and will be open to all.<\/p>\n<p>The Summit is festive and informative, and draws students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, community partners, and members of the incoming first-year class. It is a wonderful opportunity for first-years and sophomores to test their presentation skills in a supportive environment, and gives more advanced students the chance to present their individual research to a wide audience.
