Cameron Omsberg followed Bates head coach Stewart Flaherty around for a day in the middle of the Bobcats’ offseason, only to find Flaherty as busy as ever at coaching the game.
Bates head men’s soccer coach Stewart Flaherty will be helping coach GPS Portland Phoenix on Tuesday night against the professional team Rochester Rhinos, in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup.
Bates will host the SoccerMaine State Cup games for the first time this Sunday, April 28. The tournament will bring a slate of five games to Garcelon Field, headlined by the Under-17 State Cup Final at 12:20pm.
Bates alum Jeff Critchlow ’03 will be inducted this coming May into the Concord-Carlisle (Mass.) High School Sports Hall of Fame. Critchlow played both soccer and lacrosse at Bates, and is parlaying some lessons learned as a Bobcat into a successful career.
