For the Bates women, senior Annaliese Rudis (North Andover, Mass.) won both diving events, scoring 228.67 points at 1 meter and a new career-high of 254.85 points in the 3-meter. Other event winners included:
For the Bates men, first-year diver Travis Jones (Ithaca, N.Y.) won the 1-meter event with 201.44 points and the 3-meter with 227.63 points. Sophomore Nathaniel Depew (Hudson, Ohio) won the 200 free in 1:49.53 and also placed second in the 100 back (56.21). Meanwhile sophomore Ned Scott (Maplewood, N.J.) won the 100 free in 48.83 seconds and finished second in the 100 fly (52.56). "Ned Scott was fantastic today," said Casares. "He swam all in-season lifetime bests." Next up for the Bobcats are the all-important NESCAC Championships. The women's championships take place Feb. 19-21 at Middlebury. The men's meet is scheduled for Feb. 26-28 at Williams. |
