From a young age, Sadie has always enjoyed talking to people and hearing new stories, big and small. When she moved from her home state of New Mexico to Virginia, and then abroad to Guatemala and Ethiopia, her love for meeting and getting to know people only expanded. Along with her enjoyment of learning and exploring, Sadie’s interest in people-centered work brought her to Bowdoin College, where she studied Psychology and Education, discovering a deep love for educational philosophy and the process of thinking through education as an agent of growth and change but, also, joy and sustainable hope. Fueled by these interests, she began working in Bowdoin’s Admissions Office as a tour guide and summer intern, and loved the work so much that she went on to help coordinate access programming, interview prospective students, staff and moderate student life panels, and recruit and train other tour guides.

Sadie, herself, applied to college in a chaotic manner, amidst the global pandemic, and absolutely knows first-hand how much goes into the application process. She loves nothing more than helping prospective students and their loved ones feel more comfortable with the process itself. Her enjoyment of the liberal arts, connecting with local communities, harnessing the joy that comes with learning, and helping students find belonging on college campuses, inclusive of their many different interests, backgrounds, and experiences, has brought her to Bates, where she could not be more excited to welcome students and families to the tight-knit community and endless possibilities.

In her free time, Sadie is a huge movie enthusiast (too many favorites to name) and her favorite activity is learning to knit or crochet something new while breaking into a new show or movie. She loves spending time with her staffy-pitbull mix, Winnie, and traveling to new places, always making sure to try new foods along the way.

Sadie looks forward to hearing all of your stories and no question is too big or small, so please feel free to reach out.
