Bates Softball: Fall Review

Greetings Bates Softball Alumni, Family, and Friends!

As the first semester winds down, we’d like to share what we have been up to since September! We have been working hard in the classroom, in the weight room and on the field. The upperclassmen have been leading our practices and lifts, while getting our six first years comfortable.

Keeping up with the ‘Cats: What we’ve been up to, to prepare for the season.

Team Activities

Around Halloween time, we carved pumpkins together. We’ve also enjoyed time supporting our fellow bobcats at other sporting events including football

Every February break we run a youth softball clinic for Lewiston little league and we also volunteer for a 21st century field day with local 1st-6th graders.  During the holidays, we sang Christmas carols at a local nursing home.  On Halloween, we handed out candy at the local PALS center.

Captain’s Practices

We’ve had captain’s practices three times a week to prepare for season. These have included fundamentals like tee work and ground ball form all the way to live pitching and hitting.
