About

Michael Reidy has designed scenery and lighting for theaters, dance companies, and event producers nationwide, including: Tennessee Repertory Theater, Portland Stage, Worchester Foothills Theater, Ram Island Dance, Santa Rosa Repertory, Bigfork Summer Playhouse, PORT Opera, Maine State Music Theater, Theater at Monmouth. For Mad Horse Theater, Michael designed acclaimed productions of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, King Lear, and Hamlet. Michael founded Scenic Solutions in 1996 to provide specialized fabrication for corporate and not-for-profit clients, including: Time-Warner, Cole-Haan, Children’s Museum of Maine, and LL Bean. Other design projects include an exhibit on the cultural history of paganism and witchcraft for the Salem Witch Museum. Working with Transformit, Gorham Maine, Michael designed tension fabric structures as touring sets for The Dave Matthews Band and ZZ Top. Michael has consulted on and fabricated several projects for performance artist William Pope.L, including Blackula, Chocolate Fountain, A Personal History On Videotape. Recent projects include lighting design for Mill Town, an immersive dance experience in an abandoned mill, choreographed by Stephan Koplowitz and produced by the Bates Dance Festival; and Creative Director for re:past a memorial for Malaga, curated by Myron Beasley, summer 2018.
