Banned Books Week

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary

of the

Freedom to Read

September 30−October 6, 2012

— Come visit the display in the lobby of the library put together by some of the students from FYS 415: Banned Books.

Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community –- librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types –- in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

Find out if your favorite book has been banned or challenged by exploring the most frequently challenged books of the 21st century compiled by the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom.

Or go to the BBW Virtual Read-Out on YouTube where readers are exercising their First Amendment right to read a banned book.
