Theater at Bates stages six performances of "The Ugly Ducklings"Theater at Bates will stage the world premiere of Carolyn Gage’s “The Ugly Ducklings” at 6 p.m. on September 26 in Gannett Theater. Lauren Todd, a Bates junior from Cherry Valley, Mass., is directing the drama about the destructive effects of homophobia on girls and young women. The play also will be performed at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2 p.m. on Sept. 28, 8 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 4, and 2 p.m. on Oct. 5. Tickets are $2 for general admission and may be purchased at the box office.
