Portland String Quartet to perform

The Portland String Quartet will perform at Bates College Friday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The program features Franz Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in D Minor, Op. 76, No. 2, Charles Ives’ String Quartet No. 1: The Revival Meeting and Johannes Brahms’ String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 51, No. 2. Violinist, pianist and cellist perform classical music

Violinist Lawrence Golan and pianist Judith Quimby joined by cellist Kurt Kaufman perform a concert of classical music in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall May 8 at 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Orchestra to perform classical concert

The Bates College Orchestra, directed by William Matthews, Alice Swanson Esty Professor of Music, will perform March 14 at 8 p.m. and March 15 at 2 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited and admission is free.

Chamber ensemble to perform classical music

The Maine Music Society Chamber Ensemble will perform a program of Bach, Bocharini and Brahms March 6 at 8 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. Tickets purchased in advance are $12 for adults, $11.50 for seniors, $6.25 for students, and free for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult. Tickets purchased at the door are $15 for adults and seniors, $7.50 for students, and free for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult. Well-known organist to perform

Organist Calvert Johnson will perform early Spanish organ music and music by Bach and women composers in a concert at Bates at 7:30 p.m. March 10th in the Bates College Chapel. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
