Undocumented & DACA Applicants

Since its founding in 1855, Bates College has welcomed students regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and economic background. Bates encourages first-year and transfer applications from all students interested in the college, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.

Admission

The Office of Admission will consider undocumented and DACA students as domestic applicants, and their applications will be evaluated accordingly.

Undocumented and DACA students will follow the same application process as those of domestic first-year or transfer applicants, and are welcome to share relevant narratives unique to their circumstances.

Financial Aid

  • As with all students, Bates will meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for those admitted to the college, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. If admitted and enrolled, a student’s financial aid package would consist of grant aid from the college.
  • To apply for financial aid, undocumented and DACA students must submit the College Board CSS Profile and a Non-Tax Filer Statement to Student Financial Services.
  • Please see the Student Financial Services website for more information related to financial aid services and our policy regarding undocumented and DACA applicants.
