About
Chris earned his Ph.D. at Yale University, and has since been the Wisconsin International Relations Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Chicago. At Bates, Chris teaches courses on conflict, security, and ethnicity. Chris studies the dynamics and legacies of political violence, and is particularly interested in how violence affects ethnic and other group identities.
