About
Rebecca Clark Uchenna, Director of Bates-Morse Mountain Conservation Area and Shortridge Coastal Center, joins Bates faculty as a Visiting Lecturer in Education. She holds a B.S in Wildlife Ecology and Secondary Education from the University of Maine and a M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England. Previously, Rebecca held leadership roles with the Island Institute as well as the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance, where she supported rural communities on climate change adaptation, aquaculture and K-12 STEM education. She has received and managed several National Science Foundation grants throughout her career, focused on K-12 place-based STEM education and exploration. Her passions are community and citizen science, place-based education, environmental and social justice, as well as fostering a sense of belonging and wellbeing in and out of the classroom.

Senior Thesis
This course involves research for and writing of the senior thesis, under the direction of a faculty advisor. Guidelines for the thesis are published on the program website and are available from the program chair. Students register for ENVR 457 in the fall semester.
