Experience what Bates is all about. There is no better way to understand Bates College than by spending time on campus.
Take a full campus tour, learn about admission and financial aid in detail, speak with students working diligently on their theses and enjoy a meal in Commons!
During your visit, observe the day-to-day life of students here. Go to the library and see how students interact. Eat lunch in Commons. Sit down at any table and strike up a conversation. Review our Course Schedule and sit in on a class. Attend a concert, a lecture or a game!

October Open House - Monday, October 13
Learn more about Bates by attending our fall Open House on Monday, October 13, 2014. Students and their families will be able to attend classes, panels, meet staff and faculty, go on a tour, sit in on an information session and eat lunch in our dining hall. To register, please fill out the form below. A list of classes to attend will be posted closer to the day of the event and will be available the day of.

Fall 2014 Saturdays
The Office of Admission will be open on select Saturdays during the Fall. On these days, tours will be offered at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., and an information session will be held at 10 a.m. To request an interview during a Fall Saturday, please call the Office of Admission at 1-855-228-3755.

Fall 2014 Overnights
Student-led tours are one hour long and depart from the Admission Office, Lindholm House, 23 Campus Ave. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Unless otherwise noted, tours occur Monday-Friday. Reservations are not needed for campus tours.
June 9, 2014 – November 21, 2014
- Tours at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- Please note that on Wednesday, October 15 - Friday, October 17, tours will only be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. due to the College’s October Break.
December 1, 2014 – February 27, 2015
- Tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Please note that tours are unavailable from Monday, December 15, 2014 through Friday, January 2, 2015.
Admission and Financial Aid Information Sessions
Admission and Financial Aid information sessions are led by an Admission representative and last 45 minutes. This is a great time to learn more about Bates academics and the college application process, and to have your many questions answered. Please note that the venue of the information session may change depending on the size of the group.
July 7, 2014 – November 21, 2014
- Monday-Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Please check in at the Admission Office, Lindholm House, 23 Campus Avenue. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Reservations are not needed for information sessions.
We encourage prospective students to schedule an interview with a representative from our Admission Office. The interview offers students the opportunity to ask questions about their areas of interest and about the application process.
We offer interviews both on and off campus, and all interviews are weighted equally. Bates interviews are evaluative and last 30–45 minutes. Call the Office of Admission to request your interview.
For rising high school seniors:
On-campus interviews will be offered weekdays from Monday, June 16, 2014 through Friday, November 21, 2014. Interviews will also be offered on select Saturdays throughout Fall 2014 – please see below for more information. Please call 1-855-228-3755 to request your on-campus interview. If you can’t schedule an on-campus interview, you can interview with a Bates alumni representative throughout the United States and abroad.To request an alumni interview, please fill out an online request form.
CBB College Nights in Maine
This fall, get to know Colby, Bates and Bowdoin at one of our evening programs for Maine high school students and their families. Each program will consist of a panel with admission staff from each college, followed by a mini college fair. Click here to learn more and register.
