Alake Pilgrim

Alake Pilgrim, from Trinidad, West Indies “Now that I’m leaving and I look back and recall certain moments…like sitting at a table with somebody chattering off in Nepali, arguing with my friend from Israel about the war, being in China and pinching myself everyday and saying ‘Oh my God, how did I get to China?’ I think I realize now that I am leaving: I may be bruised in some places, I may have a thicker skin, but I definitely think that I am leaving open as well, open to embrace the world.”
