Iftar Dinner ’13
Saturday, July 27, 2013
The Iftar Dinner, sponsored by the Multifatith Chaplaincy and hosted at the Office of Intercultural Education, was an opportunity to learn about the practice of Ramadan in Muslim cultures and the communal meal called “Iftar” that breaks the daily fast, which is an integral part of Ramadan.
Naima Qaimbi ’15 taught participants how to make sambusas, a popular African and Middle Eastern dish. She, along with Awais Rana ’15 spoke about their experiences joining with family and friends for Iftar. About twenty-five participants came out to enjoy an evening of food and good conversation.
