Sue received her B.S. in nursing from the Univ. of Arizona in 1998, passed her state boards, and is now working as an RN at a psychiatric hospital. Kate, who lives in Portland, serves on the Bates Task Force on Sexual Assault, which is starting up this fall….Christina Fasse recently moved to San Francisco after finishing a clinical psychology internship in Fresno. She is now a therapist in a special ed setting for severely emotionally disturbed middle school kids…. Carl Fey is an assistant professor of international business at Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden. Carl says, “My new challenge is helping our school set up a branch business school for executive education work in St. Petersburg, Russia. I also continue to ski on the U.S. ski-orienteering team.”… Josh Friedlander is in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., finishing his last year of his doctorate in clinical psychology at Nova Southeastern Univ. She graduated from her physician’s assistant program in August and will take the national boards in October. Lakin lives in Fairfield, Conn., and has seen John Ducker, who lives the next town over…. Aaron Humphrey, in Portland, Ore., is still “playing with lights.” He had his knee reconstructed in June but is already biking and climbing — and hoped to be skiing by December. Aaron got together withAnthony Miller a couple of times over the summer…. Ken Husbands writes: “I did the struggling musician thing in Paris for three years, then I played disco in Boston for three years, and now I am in grad school studying French literature at UC-Irvine.”… Amy Hutchinson and husband Scott are teaching in Boise, Idaho. They miss Montana, “but we’re learning to appreciate Idaho’s landscapes, too.”… Trina Janes is in her last year at Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Mary is on the adjunct faculty at Northern Virginia Community College…. Robin Levin Marshall and her husband have moved into a new home in Seattle. They christened it with a Chase Hall- style party, “complete with DJ and cops.” Robin just wrapped up a $9.5- million campaign at Seattle Preparatory School…. Adam Lynn is a psychologist on an acute, 34-bed dual-diagnosis inpatient unit at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn…. Chris Magendantz is defensive coordinator of Northeastern’s football team and is “thrilled to finally be married” to Kristin Bierly ’92, who is now an attorney. Chris gets together with Greg Mulready, Scott Higgins, Matt Pedone, Mike Evans, Chris O’Connor, Alex Lifson, and Mike Taylor, although “not as much as I’d like.” He was also “very impressed with the hiring of Mark Harriman as Bates’ newest head football coach.”… Mary Marshall teaches 9th-grade (honors) and 11th-grade English at Falls Church (Va.) High School. At a national conference, she presented education units she developed. Mary continues to write and has published some pieces in newsletters and literary magazines. She got together with Caroline Smalleyover the summer…. Kathleen McCarthy is “still living in Chelsea” with a new job as major gifts and planned-giving specialist at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Greenwich Village, NYC. She gets together with Bevin Howard often, and Beth Walsh hosted a birthday party for her in Boston…. Stacia works at Taunton State Hospital as a primary therapist on an inpatient adolescent ward…. Julie and Mike O’Brien welcomed their second child, Shane Michael O’Brien, in May ’98. Seeking a small company “where I can make more of a difference,” Mike joined Direct Report Corp. in Stow, Mass. The company provides investor relations services to public companies….Craig and Alison Buttrick Patton ’92 attended a Corey Harris concert at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park outside Chicago with Stephen ’90 and Kristi Morgan Provasnik ’90, and Alexandra Delp ’90. Craig co-owns/manages Apogee Information Systems, a software consulting company. They recently won the first annual Application of the Year contest held by Inprise Corp. for their work with ITT Sheraton. Craig also published a short story called “Monthuglu” in a collection of Star Trek short stories called Strange New Worlds. He was one of 18 winners chosen from 3,000 contest entries. The book came out in June 1998…. Julia Abbott Rider was born in January 1998 to Todd ’90 and Karen Pfirman Rider. They live in Germantown, Md. Karen is a research analyst for a consulting company in Arlington, Va…. Hilary Poriss is working on her Ph.D. in music history at Chicago and has been doing research in Venice and Florence…. Tiny Proctormoved to Minnesota in 1996. He’s restoring an old house there, and opened up his own photography studio, Studio T, in St. Paul…. Kristin Presley Radford is a social worker at Londonderry (N.H.) Jen and her “significant other” just bought a house in Mississauga, Ont….Kristin Wolcott married Jim Farese in August ’98 in Phippsburg, Maine, followed by a honeymoon in Tortola, BVI. Her first year as a clinical special worker was “challenging” and she hopes to continue this work in Gainesville, Fla., where they have just moved “for at least a year.”… Pamela Wunderlich Martinez married Gregory Martinez last January. A four-year letterwinner in the sport at Bates, Tim was assistant coach at the Pingree School in South Hamilton, Mass., and earlier taught at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, Mass…. Travis Emery is night housekeeping foreman at Jackson Hole Ski Resort, which provides him with ample day time for skiing. Kina Pickett, in the “winter wonderland,” works at the Mangy Mouse local tavern at the Ski Resort, passing the days “careening down powdery slopes with 20 kids in tow, bursting with joy.” Dave Warn was to join them shortly. He and Kina have also coupled their musical talent to form “Sideshow Bob and the Vermont Revolt.” Keep watch for their act to come to a small venue near you.
