Sun Journal checks in on the new Garcelon Field
Lewiston Sun Journal reporter Kalle Oakes checks in on how players and coaches like the new Garcelon Field surface and surroundings, which will be dedicated Oct. 9 during Parents & Family Weekend game vs. Williams. “It’s phenomenal. Look around you. It’s awesome,” says offensive lineman and senior tri-captain Brendan Murphy of Sandwich, Mass., who tells Oakes that he “couldn’t believe how quickly it went from being just something people were talking about to something that was happening. And it was all donor-funded. It’s a good feeling that people stepped up to show what Bates athletics means to them, specifically football.” View story from the Lewiston Sun Journal.
