Arron Foster is a printmaker, interdisciplinary artist, and educator whose research-driven practice explores the relationships between landscape, memory, place, and human intervention. Working across printmaking, artists’ books, drawing, photography, animation, video, and installation, he uses site-responsive methodologies to examine how physical environments become repositories of history and lived experience.

Printmaking provides a conceptual and material foundation for Foster’s practice. He is particularly interested in print’s capacity to record, translate, repeat, and accumulate information, positioning the printed image as both index and archive. His projects emerge through sustained engagement with specific environments, translating physical terrain, memory, and evidence of human activity into layered visual forms that consider how places are constructed, remembered, and transformed over time.

Foster’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including solo exhibitions at the John J. McDonough Museum of Art, George Fox University, Waterloo Arts, the Dayton Society of the Artists, Akron Soul Train, and Hiram College. His work has also been presented in Portugal, China, South Korea, Canada, and the Netherlands. He is the recipient of an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council and an Akron Soul Train Artist Residency, among other grants and awards supporting creative research and teaching. His work is held in institutional collections including Arkansas State University, Ohio University, Kansas State University, and the University of Georgia.

Foster received an MFA in Printmaking and Book Arts from the University of Georgia and a BFA in Printmaking and Art Education from East Carolina University.
