About
Carolina received her MFA in film, video, and new media, and Animation from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016. In 2000, she became an immigrant in the USA; since then, she has been trying to question the complexities of place, belonging, and agency through personal storytelling. Her work exist in the intersection where personal, social, and political stories meet. She weaves animation, video, performance, drawing and installation aiming to create new documents that challenge social and historical representations of migration, otherness, diaspora, and labor. Currently Carolina is an Assistant Professor in the department of Art and Visual Culture at Bates College.
