LibrarySearch has changed

We’ve updated LibrarySearch to make it easier to find even more academic journal articles.

What’s New

Previously, the default “Everything” search only showed articles from journals we subscribed to, along with books and videos from the Colby, Bates and Bowdoin collections. Now, it also returns additional article results even if we don’t subscribe to the journal, giving you access to millions of sources.

How It Works

  • If we don’t subscribe to the journal, the search result will display “Check for request options.”
  • Once you’ve clicked on the article title, you will see options to request a PDF.
  • You no longer need to toggle “Add results beyond CBB” to see these additional results; they are now included by default.

Books and Videos

This change does not apply to books and videos. If you need a book or video that’s not in the CBB network, you can search for it by changing Everything to Beyond CBB.

You will have options to request through MaineCat or Interlibrary Loan.
