Bates’ recent architectural adventures have emphasized bringing daylight indoors. We’ve seen it in new construction, such as the Bonney Science Center, and in the renovation of such venerable structures as Dana and Chase halls. The current renovation of 96 Campus Avenue extends that theme.

Professor Emeritus of Physical Education Albert M. Fereshetian Jr., affectionately known as “Coach Fresh” during his 26 years as head coach of Bates men’s cross country and track and field, has died at the age of 66.
