Community Navigators

The Community Navigators aim to create a welcoming environment in the Student Center for Belonging and Community that supports the academic and personal development of BIPOC, first-generation to college and LGBTQ+ students. Community Navigators collaborative engage and work with all students who access the Center in building an inclusive campus community.

I’m a Econ and English major and I’m  passionate about music, sailing, community, and helping others whenever I can. 🙂

My name is Chidera and I was born and raised in Nigeria and live in Texas.

I am passionate about healthcare and education access. I love music, anything fashion and beauty related, and love spending time with community!


Kasper Troicki (he/him)

Hello! My name is Kasper Troicki, a German-Polish Wisconsin-Wyomingite student at Bates! Born in Philadelphia to a family of immigrants (Polish and German being my native languages), grew up in Wisconsin, and currently living in Wyoming.

I will be majoring in DCS and Neuroscience, graduating in 2029. Outside of my studies, I enjoy computer programming, sewing, thinking of complex engineering solutions, and anything automotive. When I’m not busy, I always make sure to find something to do by helping my friends and those around me.

I am from Newton, Massachusetts, or J.O.B. (just outside Boston).

While in high school, I was a President of my school’s Black Leadership Advisory Council (BLAC), where we created programs that addressed issues of equity, access, anti-racism, education, and helped foster a sense of belonging for students of color.

In addition to my long-standing interests in social justice issues, other interesting facts about me include, but not limited to:

  • both my parents are Bates alums
  • I have a Black Belt in Karate
  • I love playing video games

Moreblessing Banda (she/her)

Hi, I’m Moreblessing from Zimbabwe (home to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World!). 

I love traveling and a good drive through the woods. I’m passionate about not over-harvesting wild fruits because what else are the wild animals going to eat??  One of my dreams is to own a farm but then keep one cow purely to love!!
