Bates requires the Common Application, plus a supplement. 
Both are available to:
submit online; or
download and submit via mail;

Online Application
Both the Common Application and the Bates Supplement are available online  from CommonApp.org.

Note: If you exceed the essay character limit set forth by CommonApp.org, your essay may be cut off. We strongly recommend you "preview" your application prior to submission. To ensure that we read your entire essay, please consider submitting a hard copy by mail with your application fee.

Downloadable Application
Both the Common Application and the Bates Supplement can be downloaded and printed out.

First, you' ll need to download a free copy of Adobe's Acrobat Reader so that you can read the PDF format.

• The Common Application (Included in the Common Application are the school report (including a counselor evaluation) and two teacher evaluations)
• Bates Supplement
• Optional Arts Form (please use this Bates-specific form instead of the standard one offered by the Common Application)
• Optional Athletics Form 
• Early Decision Contract (must be signed by applicant, parent(s), counselor)
• Bates Financial Statement for International Students (if you are not a U.S. citizen, this form is required whether or not you’re applying for financial aid)
• Transfer Application
