Information Especially for International & Overseas Students International students bring diversity in countless ways to the Bates community. They do well in our comfortable, challenging, and egalitarian setting, and they contribute greatly to the life of the college, both in and out of the classroom. We at Bates welcome the global perspective you and other students can bring to class and campus discussions and activities. At Bates, an "international" student is someone who is not a U.S. citizen. An Overseas student can be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident of the U.S. (holder of a "Green Card"), or a dual citizen (of the U.S. and another country). An overseas student who lives outside the U.S. should follow the same procedures as U.S. citizens when applying for admission or financial aid. We recognize their distinctive backgrounds and perspectives and welcome their contributions to our campus. We hope that this website may be of help to anyone who falls into any of these categories. |
