Wenzel receives national honor for chemistry research

Thomas Wenzel, Charles A. Dana Professor of Chemistry, has received the American Chemical Society’s 25th Award for Research at an Undergraduate Institution, recognizing faculty at undergraduate institutions whose research has been widely recognized and who have contributed significantly to both the field of chemistry and the professional development of students.

Hughes program boosts students' math, science prospects

Students at Bates College this summer explored crime-scene chemistry and cultural diversity in mathematics through a program designed to make math and science more inviting to groups underrepresented in those fields. Eleven members of the class of 2011 were chosen to be Hughes Summer Scholars.
