October 23 – 29, 2023 is International Open Access Week! The theme for this year’s celebration is Community over Commercialization. During this week each year we come together to raise awareness about the importance of making the results of scholarly research available openly. This year in particular we examine the scholarly publishing landscape with eyes toward advancing the best interests of the public and the academic community.

Ladd Library is hosting a program during this OA Week for our Bates College faculty about the process for (and benefits of!) depositing their own scholarship into our institutional repository, SCARAB, in the effort to make it more Open. Register for the event here.
