If all goes well, he will climb and ski an unclimbed 6,500-meter peak, as well as a few smaller peaks en route…. David and Julie Ann Ott Shaw bought a house in Auburn, and spent the summer getting it ready for their new daughter, Savannah Rose. After finishing as an assistant teacher with autistic children in the summer, Julie Ann now works full time for her master’s in special education at the Univ. of Southern Maine…. Melanie Fleming Sachs loves being a full-time mom. Drew continues to work at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to pay for daughter Deidre’s tuition at Bates in 2016! School of Nursing in 1995, she has been a HIV/AIDS public health nurse in Alexandria, Va. In 1996 she ran and finished the Marine Corps marathon, says it is time to do it again and invites anyone to join her in training…. I received a fellowship to study at George Mason Univ. and am now one year into my M.F.A. in fiction writing. I also teach English composition at the university. I got married in the Caribbean March 1998 to my longtime high-school sweetheart, Steven Sidore. He is studying for his Ph.D. in German language at UVA. We rent a large farm in an area that makes Lewiston look downright metropolitan and are loving life with our view of the mountains from our porch and a puppy named Chaucer. He facilitates regular communication of members in sub or regional groups to identify regional issues, coordinates the work of committee heads as they identify strategy on policy issues, and supports new members in their constituent work and press relations. He also helps coordinate floor debate, chairs caucus meetings as needed, and assists in opening lines of communication between members of the caucus, leadership, staff, and the public…. Sarah Dominick is a tutor at Carrabassett Valley Academy, where she also can enjoy skiing. In January she competed in the Chevy Truck U.S. Cross Country Championships at Black Mountain, Rumford. In her last six months as a Peace Corps volunteer in St. Vincent, Becca Cheezum has developed a domestic violence crisis center and hotline for women, created a curriculum for schools about domestic violence, and trained counselors for the center and hotline…. Audrey Chen is still at Deutsche Bank Securities doing sell-side equity research. In March she went to Singapore with her mom, then on to Jamaica….Heather Chichester enjoys her classes and research on the Atlantic right whale at the New England Aquarium….Sharleen Davis has a teaching job in Harvard Square, is working on her Peace Corps application, and is heavily involved with a battered women’s shelter, where she does overnight shifts and leads a support group for survivors….Gretchen DeHart says that being at a large university has made her appreciate her Bates experience…. In the years since graduation, Kevin Finn has worked as a Congressional intern, lived in Japan for three months with the same family he had been with before, biked to many local nature sites, and continued his nature photography.
