Concert Band to perform Irish selections in celebration of St. Patrick's Day

The Bates Concert Band will perform a St. Patrick’s Day concert at the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall March 17 at 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Under the direction of Mark Manduca, a member of the Bates applied music faculty, the group will perform a program of Irish music including “Danny Boy,” “Rakes at Mallow,” “The Irish Washerwoman” and “The Irish Rhapsody.” The band also will perform Variations on a Korean Folksong. In honor of the holiday, “the audience is invited to wear green,” Manduca said.
