Calastri recently traveled through Sri Lanka and southern India, while Peterson studied in northern India during Short Term 2007 and with a Barlow Thesis Grant in 2008.

The gathering included an announcement of a large National Institutes of Health grant to INBRE (IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence) that will continue to fund student and faculty research at Bates.
