Special Topics in VoiceMail – Introduction to Bates VoiceMail Manager
Wednesday, September 18, 2013 – 10:00am to 11:00am – Hedge Hall, RM G18
Bates VoiceMail Manager is an Internet browser application that allows you access and manage your voicemail box from any Internet connected computer. During this introductory hands-on workshop, participants will be provided with an interface overview of Bates VoiceMail Manager, learn how to access Bates VoiceMail Manager, manage voicemail messages, and setup some of the common options that are available to you.
Prerequisites: Before attending this workshop, participants MUST login to Bates VoiceMail and initialize their voicemail box. Listen to the prompts to setup your voicemail box.

Webinar Wednesday – Using Appointment Slots in Google Calendar

The appointment slots feature of Google Calendar allows users to reserve a block of time on their calendars that can then further be divided and shared with others. Individuals can now reserve an appointment time with you during your allotted hours. During this webinar you will learn how to setup appointment slots in your Google Calendar and how others can view your appointment page.

Ask the Expert Series – Google Apps (Suite) for Education Open Session
Friday, October 11, 2013 – 1:00pm to 2:00pm – Ladd Library, RM 148
During this open session, come and bring your questions about the Google Apps for Education Suite (Drive, Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Form, Bates Gmail and Google Calendar). Have you wanted to learn how to share documents or maybe how to upload files and access them from another location. Maybe you want to know how to setup a vacation message in Bates Gmail or how to setup Events in Google Calendar a bit more efficiently. This is an opportunity for you to bring your questions and/or share your tips with an expert and your colleagues.

Special Topics in Banner – Banner Overview and Navigation

Thursday, October 17, 2013 – 1:30 to 2:30pm – Ladd Library, RM 148
In this seminar the question “What is Banner?” will be answered. You will learn about the Ellucian Banner Administrative System, how Banner interacts with other systems, how to access Banner, the components that make up the Banner Suite, Banner Forms, and how to navigate Banner through its menu’s, keyboard shortcuts, and Direct Access/Go To dialogue box. The basics of searching will also be covered.
Prerequisites: A Banner Account (Username and Password)

Webinar Wednesday – Introduction to Google Docs – Saving and Sharing Documents
Wednesday, October 23, 2013 – 10:15am to 10:45am – Virtual Online Webinar
What is Google Docs/Google Drive? During this 30 minute (or less) webinar participants will learn about Google Docs/Google Drive and how to upload files to their Google Drive account, how to create a basic Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation. Participants will also learn how to share the documents with their colleagues and what the different levels of access provide to those individuals.

Come for a basic introduction to Photoshop. We will cover what an image is and some basic tools to process your images. We will talk about file formats and how to save images for print, digital signage displays, and the web.

Webinar Wednesday – Using Collaborative Tools in Microsoft Word 2010
Wednesday, November 27, 2013 – 10:15am to 10:45am – Virtual Online Webinar
With the use of collaborative editing tools in Microsoft Word 2010 you can edit a document with other individuals and track the changes that are being made to the document. You can then review the changes that have been made to the document and decide if you want to accept or reject those changes. In addition to the ability to track changes to a document you are sharing, you can also insert comments throughout the document without making any editorial changes.

Ask the Expert Series – What’s New with iOS 7
Friday, December 13, 2013 – 1:00pm to 2:00pm – Ladd Library, RM 148
During this one-hour seminar participants will have the opportunity to see some of the newest features available in Apple’s newest iOS. If you have upgraded your iDevice (iPhone, iPad, iTouch) to iOS7, bring it along and try out some of the new features during the session. A limited number of iPads will also be available during the session  for you to utilize to see and try some of the new features of iOS 7.
