Senior to perform violin, fiddle, in thesis concert
Senior Amy Chandler, a music major from New Sharon, performs a thesis concert of violin and fiddle music April 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited and admission is free.
The program includes Bach’s first violin concerto in A minor and Partita No. 3 in E major Preludio; as well as Brahms’ Sonata in D minor for violin and piano. After intermission, Chandler will play fiddle music she has learned throughout her studies of folk music.
Chandler is a member of Bates’ Fighting Bobcat Orchestra and the Bates College Choir. A member of the Bates waterskiing team, she also gives fiddle performances with the Slim Clark Family.
Chandler, a 1994 graduate of Mt. Blue High School, is the daughter of Marilyn and Adrian Chandler of New Sharon.
