"Colombia, According to the 'Color' of Your Viewpoint" to be discussed at Bates

María del Rosario Mina Rojas, a social worker from Cali, Colombia, will discuss “Colombia, According to the ‘Color’ of Your Viewpoint” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, in Room G10 of Pettengill Hall, Bates College. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Since 1984 Rojas has worked with black communities in Colombia’s Andean region and the Pacific Litoral region in their struggle to obtain ethnic and territorial rights. She has been an active member of the Fundemujer, an Afro Colombian women’s organization, and a founding member of the Network of Pacific Women.

Rojas’ talk is sponsored by the Office of the Dean of the College and the Bates College Department of Political Science.
