Their life cycles
Staff writer Bella English of The Boston Globe captures the charming mania of a local bicycling club that includes journalist Jon Marcus ’82. Known as the Crack O’ Dawn Riders for their early-morning (5:45) rides, the bicyclists “are a community as much as a bike group,” English writes. “Crack O’ Dawn is real-life bonding, with high speeds and low humor, a rare guy fellowship that isn’t related to work or to family.” Intensity is a shared trait, says Marcus “These are hyper-achievers. They’re Harvard doctors and cancer researchers. They’re the kind of people who get up at 4:30 in the morning when it’s cold and dark and raining and go riding.” (View Clip and Text)
