Sun-Times columnist at looks Pricefalls.com, founded by Elliot Moskow '10
For a Cyber Monday story, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Sandra Guy looks Pricefalls.com, a Dutch auction Web site founded by Bates economics major Elliot Moskow ’10. Dutch auctions, in which which a product’s price starts high and drops until buyers jump in, appeal to people who enjoy “the thrill of the game,” says Dmytro Zhosan, a business and economics professor at Ripon College who had his students conduct a case study on Pricefalls.com. Moskow also gives the Sun-Times some online shopping tips, such as creating a separate folder in your e-mail inbox specifically for holiday receipts. “That way, you have all the information you need in one easy-to-find location,” he says.
